I received a call on Tuesday for a 30th birthday party on Saturday. The guest of honor was a real Justin Beiber fan. The date was open, Justin Beiber was there and we had a blast!
Cupcakes were the rage at this wedding I DJ’d last weekend at George Washington’s Mount Vernon Inn Alexandria, VA.
And believe it or not…I only ate one!
“Tough little boys grow up to be dads. They turn into big babies again.” Those are some lyrics from the Father/Daughter dance yesterday. I thought that was really nice. John and Melissa were a really fun couple. It turns out I also had DJ’d the Best Man’s wedding almost 10 years ago. You see, it is a small world. Donna, Tim and the rest of the staff at Kurtz’s were very happy to have me and it was nice to trade stories with the photographer, Ryan, of RTM Studios. Overall, it was a great start to the spring wedding season. Thanks John and Melissa!
The summer of 2011 has been flying by. Lot’s of weddings and good times. Here’s a fun shot from the Crown Plaza in Arlington.
On dad duty: taking 3 almost 15 yr-olds to a concert in Baltimore to see their favorite bands. The Glamour Kills Tour at Ram’s Head Live…Bands that will be playing; The Ready Set, Allstar Weekend, The Downtown Fiction and We Are The In Crowd. Evangeline with Zach Porter from Allstar Weekend.
Arrived 3 hours early to get in line in hopes of getting prime stage location. Bonus…band members came out to greet their fans. Here’s my daughter with Zach Porter from Allstar Weekend.
Johnny and Melissa will be wed on March 19th. I’ll be the DJ and I can’t wait. Kurtz’s on the water in Pasadena, Maryland. You’ve gotta luv a wedding with a waterview.
I’ll meet with Mother-of-the Bride, Kathy for Casey and Patrick’s wedding in 2012! They were referred by Kate and John who had the blizzard wedding at Carrol’s Creek in Annapolis. it’s really not that bad to be the Mother-in-Law. I meet them all the time. I’ll be at Celebrations in Pasadena, Maryland later this year. Sue, the mother-in-law, is doing a great job finishing up some details for Rachel and Patrick who recently moved to Boston.
Winter 2010 was cold but this party was hot!
My accountant (wife) is doing tax prep and asked me if i wanted to hold onto old information from 2005. I was just about to throw it away when i got sentimental and looked at each one. A few of my favorites included the trip to Philadelphia, PA to DJ the closing party at a Healthcare Conference, The Elementary School Fund Raiser Movie Nights, The Nu-Skin Reception where the client won a Mercedes at Valley Motors in Towson, MD!! I found a press release for a sound system install we did at Maryland’s Greenbrier State Park, two gigs on yachts on the Chesapeake Bay, i saw the paperwork for family fun athletic event for Mr. McGrath who was a gym teacher at Folger McKinsey for decades. They even named the gym after him later that year…the Fire Hall wedding where the bridal party said they were going to go skinny dipping after the reception. I went straight home. Honest. And finally, background music for a murder mystery dinner dance that took place on New Year’s Eve. WOW! That was only a few of the gigs in one year. ..2005. Check back at tax time next year to see what i did in 2006.
